Cerro Kinkillosa

Sooo after I got better- how I´m feeling RIGHT NOW I´ll tell you later- I went high up to the mountain tops for another hike this weekend, as well. Because, for the first time, I had experienced „La Paz-Nightlife“ the nights before, I had some troubles getting up sunday morning, but it was definitley worth the lack of sleep. Together with some other volunteers I mastered the 5008m of the Cerro Kinkillosa.

We rented a minibus that took us about an hour outside of La Paz.

The deserted and spacious mountain setting was simply breathtaking…

We only encountered some horses and llamas…

Oh well, and passed this little house where apparently some llamas just had lost their fur…

And after our leading “mountain goat“ Fabi had already shooed us around a couple of hours, I was very thankful for our nice picnic. Especially because we´d found a store that sells German bread one day before!

And yes, eventually we found ourselfs at above 5000m altitude. An awesome feeling!

For the down-hill it then ment:  rubble-sprint! Super fun!

In the end, we only had the problem that we arrived one hour late at the meeting point we had schedueld with our busdriver. Furthermore there was no phone reception. Meanwhile it had become freezing cold, so we were more than thankful when another busdriver eventuallly had pity with our frostbitten group and took us back to La Paz.
